Effective Date: October 25, 2025
Welcome to Logbook by Project 1903. These terms are straightforward: we provide a tool to help you track aircraft maintenance, and you agree to use it responsibly. We've kept the legalese to a minimum, but please read through—this is the foundation of our relationship.
The Short Version: Use Logbook for legal purposes. Don't abuse the service. Your data belongs to you, but you're responsible for keeping backups. We're building this tool for the aviation community—let's keep it professional and respectful.
By creating an account, downloading our app, or using Logbook in any way, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.
These terms are a legal agreement between you and Project 1903 (that's us). We may update these terms from time to time, and we'll notify you when we do. Your continued use of Logbook after changes means you accept the updated terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Logbook. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian review these terms with you.
By using Logbook, you represent that:
You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account. That means:
You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at tower@project1903.com. We'll delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or engage in illegal activity. We'll give you notice when possible, but we reserve the right to terminate immediately if necessary.
Logbook is designed to help you manage aircraft maintenance records. We trust you to use it responsibly.
When you share content with other users or within groups, you agree to maintain professional standards appropriate for an aviation community. Content should be relevant to aircraft maintenance, operations, or related aviation activities.
Basically: be a decent human being and maintain professional standards. If you're not sure whether something is allowed, ask us first.
Your data belongs to you. Period. This includes all the aircraft information, maintenance records, photos, documents, and other content you create or upload to Logbook.
We don't claim ownership of your data. However, by using Logbook, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data as necessary to provide the service. This license ends when you delete your data or close your account.
You're responsible for:
Your private records remain private. However, we reserve the right to review, monitor, and moderate content that you share with other users or within groups. This includes:
We don't routinely monitor all shared content, but we take our responsibility to maintain a professional, safe platform seriously. If you see something inappropriate, please report it to us.
Important: Logbook is a tool to help you organize maintenance records, but you remain solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of your maintenance documentation. Always verify entries and ensure they meet FAA or other applicable regulatory requirements.
Logbook offers both free and paid subscription plans. The features available depend on your plan level, which you can review on our pricing page.
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your selection. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method:
You can cancel or downgrade your subscription at any time. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period. If you downgrade to a plan with lower limits (like fewer aircraft slots), you will maintain view-only access to any data you've already entered. However, to add new data or edit existing data beyond your plan limits, you may need to remove excess data to comply with the new limits or upgrade to a higher tier.
Your data is never deleted when you downgrade—you'll always be able to view and export it, even if editing is restricted based on your current plan limits.
Enterprise plans are governed by separate agreements. Contact us at approach@project1903.com for enterprise pricing and terms.
Logbook—including the software, design, branding, and all related intellectual property—belongs to Project 1903 and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on Logbook without our written permission. Your license to use Logbook is limited to the rights explicitly granted in these terms.
We love hearing ideas for how to make Logbook better. If you provide feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, we may use them freely without any obligation to compensate you. (But we'll still appreciate it!)
We work hard to keep Logbook running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues.
We'll do our best to notify you in advance of scheduled maintenance, but sometimes emergencies happen.
We're constantly improving Logbook. We may add new features, modify existing ones, or discontinue features that aren't working out. We'll notify you of significant changes, but we reserve the right to evolve the product as needed.
We may occasionally offer beta or experimental features. These are provided "as is" and may change or disappear without notice. Use them at your own discretion.
Logbook integrates with third-party services (like payment processors, cloud storage providers, and AI services for OCR). These services have their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review.
We're not responsible for the performance, availability, or privacy practices of third-party services. If a third-party service fails or changes, we'll do our best to adapt, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted integration.
We're building Logbook to be the best aircraft maintenance tool out there, but we need to be realistic about what we can promise.
Logbook is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
Logbook is a record-keeping tool, not a replacement for professional aviation expertise. Always:
Airworthiness and Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your aircraft is airworthy and that all required inspections, maintenance, and regulatory compliance requirements have been met before operating the aircraft. Just as you cannot blame a paper logbook if your aircraft isn't legal to fly, you cannot hold Project 1903 responsible for your aircraft's airworthiness, maintenance status, or regulatory compliance. Logbook is a tool to help you organize records—the legal responsibility for airworthiness remains entirely with you as the aircraft owner, operator, or pilot in command.
This is important, so please read carefully:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project 1903 will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, whether in an action in contract, tort, or otherwise, arising out of or related to your use of Logbook.
In simpler terms: we're not responsible for things like lost revenue, data loss (beyond our data retention policy), aircraft downtime, regulatory violations, or other indirect damages that might result from using (or not being able to use) Logbook.
Our total liability to you for any claims related to Logbook is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. If you're on a free plan, our liability is limited to $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. You may have additional rights under local consumer protection laws.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Project 1903 LLC, our affiliates, and our respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
Important: You specifically agree to hold us harmless and indemnify us in any lawsuit alleging that Project 1903 LLC is responsible for damage to others based on your actions or use of the application. We provide record-keeping tools—you remain solely responsible for aircraft operation, maintenance, and airworthiness decisions.
Translation: if your use of Logbook gets us into legal trouble, you'll cover our costs. This includes situations where someone tries to blame our software for issues that are fundamentally your responsibility as an aircraft owner, operator, or pilot.
If you have a problem, please reach out to us first at tower@project1903.com. We're reasonable people and we'll work with you to resolve issues.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [Your State], United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and Project 1903 agree to resolve it through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.
Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator's decision is final and binding, except for limited appeal rights under applicable law.
You and Project 1903 agree that disputes will be resolved on an individual basis. You may not participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action against us.
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to prevent actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights or confidential information.
Logbook may be subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the United States and the country in which you reside.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to U.S. government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Project 1903 regarding Logbook, and supersede any prior agreements.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms doesn't constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
You may not assign or transfer these terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We're not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet/telecommunications failures.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (like ownership, warranties, liability limitations, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after these terms end.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll:
If you disagree with the updated terms, you may cancel your account. Your continued use of Logbook after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
